I don't get it?
I don’t understand how the most popular and recommended Travel blogs on Tumblr are the ones where people just Google a place and post a photoshopped picture of it. F*cks me off immensly. Fakes.

Good start.
I spent the morning at the school helping out with Sports Day. This involved writing down the scores for the javelin throw and sitting in the sun drinking Thai Red Bull (it was a very early start). I spent the afternoon on the roof garden, catching a tan and finishing a book. I baked some tiny cupcakes with a lot of buttercream icing. Dad bought me a bag of Crunchy Cheetos, my favourite. I started...

Oops...
After spending an evening in the study, I’ve just noticed about 30 new mosquito bites. Little f*ckers.

Back in Dhaka.
So I’m pretty happy to be back in Dhaka. Or at least I was until me and Dad made our way down to ‘Old Dhaka’. I imagined streets lined with brightly coloured stalls, beautiful old buildings, and the river sounded crazy. But in reality it was dirty, smelly, crowded and noisy. People peed in the streets, rubbish was dumped on every corner, and we were hassled constantly. Our first stop was an...

Day 4: Paharpur – Akkelpur – Natore – Dhaka
Woke up at half 6, and had a very long, cold and foggy rickshaw ride to a random little town to catch a bus to Akkelpur. Dad got chatting to a man who took us back to his house and his wife cooked us eggs and ruti for breakfast. We were waiting at the train station for a while, and were completely surrounded by people staring, and they’re not subtle about it either. Eventually the train came, and...

Day 3: Dinajpur - Paharpur
Woke up early again, rode a rickshaw to the bus station and caught a bus to the middle of nowhere. After a short walk through fields and a little village with mud houses, we arrived at the Kantanagar Temple, an impressive Hindu monument, with intricately carved terracotta tiles over the entire building. Stayed for lunch and walked back, got shoved onto a crowded bus back to Dinajpur, caught...

Day 2: Rangpur - Dinajpur
We woke up early and caught a rickshaw to ‘Medical Moor’ for a breakfast of eggs, potato curry and ruti (bread). The guy from the bus yesterday picked us up, and his driver took us to Carmichael Collage and the Tajhat Palace, a beautiful old building that has been turned into a lame museum. He then drove us to an IT festival to meet his colleagues, where we were surrounded almost instantly, and...

Day 1: Dhaka - Rangpur
We got a taxi to the bus station around 7am. Our coach from Dhaka to Rangpur, 360km, took 8 hours. It was a terrifying experience, but we made it there without crashing into anything. We met a man on the bus who spoke very good English, and when we arrived he had his driver take us to our hotel, the Hotel Shah Amanat, but not before stopping at his house for tea and snacks. We wondered around the...
